The complexities of your transmission are unlike the other components

Keep Your Car Driving at the Right Temperature

Overheating in the cooling system is the most common cause of mechanical breakdowns on the road, and that overheating can cause severe damage to both the engine and transmission. Nobody wants to have to visit a radiator repair shop, and the only way to ensure that is by taking good care of your vehicle.

Colorado AAMCO Transmission & Total Car Care  recommends changing the fluid every 24 months (minimum), or if you notice that your vehicle overheats, your coolant or temperature light comes on, your temperature gauge reads higher/lower than normal, or your heater does not work. If you are trying to find Radiator repair costs or Cooling System Flush Prices, contact your local AAMCO dealer where they will be more than happy to assist you.

Coolant Flushes at AAMCO Colorado

Coolant (also called anti-freeze) protects your engine from freezing. Coolant’s effectiveness can diminish over time and it can lose many of its protective properties: in some cases causing your radiator to both rust and corrode. The cooling system can also become blocked with built-up deposits from oil, grease, scale, hose decomposition, and other materials. So we highly recommend getting your cooling system serviced and checked on at least once a year. Otherwise, problems are undoubtedly going to arise in the future.

Coolant manufacturers recommend doing a coolant system flush every year, and some service manuals call for flushing and refilling your radiator every 24 months, regardless of mileage. Check your car’s owner’s manual, or Contact a Colorado AAMCO location and radiator repair shop near you.

Radiator and Cooling System FAQ

Q: What goes into radiator maintenance?

A: Radiator maintenance an often overlooked component of your car’s internal combustion system. While your engine and transmission give you the power to go, your radiator is necessary for temperature control. When it comes to regulating your car’s internal temperature, your radiator delivers the necessary coolant to prevent breakdowns.

Q: Are my hoses really that fragile?

A: While your car’s hoses are made of strong material capable of processing hazardous chemicals, they can be supscibile to wear and tear. Like your belts, your hoses can be disconnected or eventually degrade. Thankfully, our trained mechanics can assist with fresh replacements and restore your car back to normal.

Q: What does the internal fan do?

A: Your car’s internal fan is directly responsible for keeping your internal components cool. This internal fan, positioned right behind the radiator greatly affects your engine, transmission, and even the electrical systems. When your car is moving at a slower pace or is stationary, this fan works hard to move that much needed cool air to regulate your temperature.

Q: My internal fan is electrical, does it really need to be serviced?

A: With our reliance on new technology-powered vehicles, we are often led to believe that these new gadgets never break. While an electrical internal fan is not a ground-breaking innovation, it still will require maintenance in order to keep working. Our dedicated mechanics know how to service/replace the tiny motor that powers your fan. Likewise, we believe that small services like replacing this internal fan motor can make a huge difference by preventing engine breakdowns.
