I recently took my 2016 mitsubishi lancer es awc 2.4l with 32,000 miles on it to the dealership due to some concerns I had about the way it was running. It has a CVT. The mechanic in the dealership service department said I was 1 to 2 quarts low on transmission fluid but that there isn’t any leaks or anything wrong. Is this even possible? I find it pretty far-fetched that I could be that low on transmission fluid without any type of leak. I went ahead and did the flush and fill anyways because it is recommended every 30k in the maintenance schedule for my vehicle. Now I am worried something more sinister going on. Either they just tried to sell me on the flush and fill so they could make a bit of money and not just do a free diagnostic, or my transmission has a leak or something. please advise? The transmission is a closed system, and typically if the fluid is low it indicates a leak. However, we can not say for sure if there is something going on, or not going on with your car unless we see it in one of our service centers.
