Longmont AAMCO gets the highest score of 5 stars + + for rebuilding my transmission and my transmission is working perfectly. Ken the manager, was most helpful in getting my car back to me in a timely manner. He also stepped up to the plate when the car rental he uses was about to take a huge advantage of me. Yep, I would recommend this AAMCO to anyone that needs an honest, expert and dependable technician to work on their vehicle and they are ALL very friendly to boot!

Mgr Ken and Technician John provided prompt and accurate service. John is very knowledgeable; though the basic problem I had was obvious (a shredded serpentine belt), he didn’t b.s. me by trying to sell me more service than I needed. And Ken came out to get me as I was about to drive home in order to refund me for a service that he realized they actually did not provide. I observed a high degree of integrity from both of these guys. If I lived closer to this shop I would continue to give them my business.

Transmission Tips from AAMCO

One of many ways that an AAMCO certified technicians can diagnose a lot of transmission problems is by looking at the level and quality of your transmission fluid. Here are some tips from the pros at AAMCO.

You can learn a lot by looking at your car’s transmission fluid in your own garage or driveway.

If you see low fluid levels, you may have a leak. See your local AAMCO dealer for our Transmission Multi-Point check and identify any small leak before it becomes a big headache.

The color and condition of your transmission fluid can help you determine if you have a transmission problem:

  • Normal fluid is reddish-brown and translucent, with no particular odor.
  • Contaminated fluid has water or particles in the fluid.
  • Burnt fluid may indicate damage from overheating.
  • Varnished fluid may have been overheated repeatedly.

If you notice burned or black fluid, or water or particles in your transmission fluid, bring your car into AAMCO immediately. We can diagnose your transmission problem before a major breakdown or before it costs a lot more money to repair.
