Signs You Need to change Your Fuel Filters
Dirt and debris can clog part of your fuel system and will lead to damage with other engine and fuel system components because they are all interconnected. It’s important to maintain a clean fuel system to avoid reduced vehicle performance or engine shutdown.
How Often Should I Change My Fuel Filters?
Your fuel filters should be replaced at the interval specified in your owner’s manual or every 30,000 miles. Your fuel pumps and fuel injectors, however, normally don’t need to be replaced unless they are showing signs of damage. Some of the most common signs of wear for your fuel pump would be hard starts or low fuel pressure. You may be experiencing poor gas mileage or misfires if your injectors are worn down. We suggest cleaning your fuel system at least once a year.
